Appointments

We offer both telephone and face to face appointments.  Please note that if you wish to see or speak to a particular GP for a routine telephone or face to face appointment there is likely to be a wait time of approximately 3-4 weeks.

When you call to make your appointment, our Care Navigators will ask you for some brief information about the reason for your call.  They are trained to do this and have been asked to do so by our Doctors.  This is so you can be offered the most appropriate appointment for your need – please be aware that this may not always be a Doctor.  We ask all patients to be truthful about the reason they are calling.

If you need to cancel an appointment please do this online, or alternatively you can now leave a message with your details by calling 01594 542270 and selecting option 1 without the need to speak to a Receptionist.

“Book on Day” Appointments

Sometimes when our surgeries are full, we may ask you to ring the following day for appointment availability.

If for any reason you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible online or by calling 01594 542270 and either selecting Option 1 to leave a message with your details, or Option 2 to speak to Reception. We can then offer your appointment to someone else.

If you feel you need to see a Doctor urgently, please call on the day at 8.30 am and the Receptionist will offer you an emergency book on the day appointment if one is available. In cases of urgent appointments, it may not be possible to see the Doctor of your choice but we endeavour to offer you a same day appointment.

Double Appointments

If you have more than one issue to discuss with your Doctor or Nurse, please ask the receptionist for advice on whether you should have a double appointment.

Appointment Times

We offer GP appointments at a range of times between 09:00 and 18:00. If you rely on public transport – tell the receptionist when booking your appointments. We will try our very best to fit your appointment around your bus times.

Chaperone

We sometimes receive requests from Patients who would prefer to see a Female GP. If you would prefer to see a lady doctor please mention this to the Receptionist when booking your appointment. If you would prefer to see your usual Male GP, then Reception will be able to offer you a Chaperone for your consultation if required.
